Description
One thing about the missions spread throughout the Southwest United States is that they are very old stone structures and that they are in various stages of restoration. The old ruined wall at Concepcion stands in stark contrast to the basilica and bell towers. As well, the grounds are simply beautiful and yet these restored structures only shadow what the Spanish missions once were.
I think this photo captures the heat of the day and the age in the rock wall that might have enclosed a garden three hundred years ago. My theme in many of the fotos posted here is the manner in which we remember places and events. Much like the term, "seared into memory" these images seek to tell a tale made of light and dark.
One thing I've learned about photo-art over the years is that to snap the pix - you must be where the picture is. You gotta get up and go to where they are ~:0) VivaChas!
