Description
Showdown on HighStreet with Mechanique Backup by VivaChas (aka Chas Sinklier) is a sort of challenge I set for myself. Fifty years after finishing Commercial art school I wondered if I can still fulfill an assignment to produce a viable piece of work in an area of art with which I had little experience. So I decided to use the old, old movie, a genuine blast from the past 1952, High Noon! High Noon is a flick about a town sheriff who must stand alone against against a notorious outlaw out to get revenge. I seem to recall the sheriff got some backup from the town drunk, the only person who would back him up against the outlaw gang. Great flick! In 1981 Outland, a Brit film, retested the story set on a space station! What Fun! There was another remake of the story in 2000. Let me know if there are any other versions of the story. Anyway, In my updated illustration inspired by the Western movie we have the sheriff portrayed by a young woman every bit a slim as Gary Cooper the lawman from the ’52 film. And portraying the drunk filled by Jack Elam in the original we have the C-3000 Cop Mechanique. So there you have it! VivaChas does retro in the dystopian world of tomorrow just for you! Get the canvas and put ‘er up on your walls and live to tell the story! ~;0) VivaChas!

This is awesome! Love the grimy, sci-fi, futuristic feel to it. Great light work too!

Thanks Nimros! Getting grimier by the moment! An old cowboy movie inspired this image. 1952 I think; they called it High Noon! ~;0) VivaChas!

Chas, I like it. It's edgy, dramatic, cinemagraphic. I look forward to seeing more of the story.
Chas Sinklier replied:
Thanks Tom - I'm wondering how it will go me own self! I will say in the old movie - High Noon - - - wait a mo! Don't want to spoil the ending! Haa!! ~;0) VivaChas!!

Thanks Aziza! Turns out the whole incident depicted in the VivaChas illustration was over a library fine! The perp paid the fine and all was forgiven. ~;0) VivaChas!
